Frozen assets and service status

Mercado Bitcoin said in a November 3 update that it had frozen $12.9 million in assets following the security incident detected the previous day, with that work continuing. The announcement reports frozen assets; it does not say those funds have been returned.[1]

The company said its platform remains paused until it can resume safely, leaving its app unavailable. Users do not need to reinstall the app or change devices. The update gave no firm reopening time. The company also warned that it does not contact users to request passwords, verification codes or transfers.[1]
