Key points
- Completing PoR and enabling users to verify it are separate points in time.
Explaining the verification interval
Binance co-founder Yi He said on November 6 that there is a gap between completing proof of reserves (PoR) and allowing users to verify it themselves. She said the time required generally depends on the scale of the assets and is outside Binance’s control.[1]
He also relayed an earlier Binance announcement that the zero-knowledge proof (ZKProof) for its latest PoR was ready, allowing users to verify that their balances are backed at a minimum of 1:1. These are statements by He and Binance; BlockBlah has not independently verified the reserves.[1]
